The Reassurance Of Getting A Handle

Puppy parenting is finally getting easier! I remember this forlorn stage from raising Chloe and it is beginning to become manageable! Thanks to my very helpful and supportive partner in crime <3

Today, alarm clock went off - out the door with the dogs struggling to keep them both going in the same direction - still not enough to wake me in my sleepy state. On to my steadfast helping of tea. That was better. Breakfast was next (a win for me, I am not a big breakfast during the week kind of a gal). Watching the "Today Show", whilst answering emails is one of my guilty morning pleasures whenever possible.

Experiment Veet time...yes, I am searching for a longer lasting hair removal option, rather than shaving my legs constantly. Veet is stinky, not so much so as Nair (cringe...haven't used that in years thankfully), and was only effective by about 70%. Now this was the first trial run, so perhaps next time it will go more smoothly...no pun intended ;) It was not a total failure...but a far cry from the claims of the commercial.

Next it was time to hit the road for my typical sales calls, the first stop being a church in the ghetto...Upon my arrival I noticed a man digging through a nearby dumpster - we eyed eachother suspiciously and I made a quick dash to the church door...there were not many people around and it was too nice a day to get mugged. After the scheduled stops it was time for a lunch meeting. I have been to this establishment before and the building spelled like an old diaper....I thought that particular day it had been a patron of the restaurant, unfortunately...that was not the case. I was surprised, once again greeted with the pungent odor as soon as I stepped through the threshold. It must be a mold or ventilation issue...after sitting there for about 15 minutes you do not notice it anymore (probably because it has singed off all the hairs in you nose).

After arriving home and letting out the canines for a much needed bathroom break it was time for the scheduled pest control treatment. Again holding strong against the loathesome insects that find their way into my home is a top priority! The warm temperatures lure them in due to the climate controlled alternative to the wilds outside. My routine pest man is fantastic, thorough as can be - he understands my serious battle - and always gives useful advice on other things (today it was on having multiple dogs) and shares entertaining antedotes (the family with the coachroaches falling from the ceiling).

Today was chalk full of good news! We are able to board both dogs at a kennel - the poor woman on the phone made it through my rigorous question session this morning - and thus get away for Labor Day weekend. A weekend without taking the dogs out...will be a much needed break! A good phone call from a coworker and fun weekend plans coming up!

With temperatures slowly cooling I am feeling rather good about things indeed :)
